Learning Goals, Objectives, Outcomes and Curriculum Design

Learning Goals, Objectives and Outcomes are critical to higher education. They establish the foundation and direction for the total educational process. They serve as the mechanism against which to judge the curriculum. They serve as a basis for the establishment of assessment tools of student learning. They provide the foundation for programmatic review and assessment. Developing Learning Goals, Objectives and Outcomes is an ongoing process; a process key to improving the quality of higher education. Learning Goals, Objectives and Outcomes literally guide the development and design of the curriculum. They are the benchmarks used for adjusting curriculum in our effort to maximize student learning.
The Research Program of International Education Institute, VNU-HCM is built upon the Center for Human Resource Development (CHRD) of Vietnam National University HCMC. It was established for the purpose of disseminating current research findings in the field of human resource development, and for implementing educational research aimed at finding ways to improve the quality of training in Vietnam. Its research and training functions aim to develop high quality human resources for the Vietnamese educational system and, through education, to improve the quality of the skilled work-force needed for socio-economic development.
