In a global economy there is an increasing need for professional interpreters. Many people can understand and speak English quite fluently, however, becoming a highly proficient professional interpreter is not easy to accomplish, therefore, a career as an interpreter is highly respected in society. Many senior interpreters eventually become high-ranking officers in the diplomatic corps; interpreters also earn high salaries.
The Research Program of International Education Institute, VNU-HCM is built upon the Center for Human Resource Development (CHRD) of Vietnam National University HCMC. It was established for the purpose of disseminating current research findings in the field of human resource development, and for implementing educational research aimed at finding ways to improve the quality of training in Vietnam. Its research and training functions aim to develop high quality human resources for the Vietnamese educational system and, through education, to improve the quality of the skilled work-force needed for socio-economic development.
